Rock of Ages 2: Bigger & Boulder

2017 - ATLUS/SEGA - ACE Team

Rock of Ages 2 is a mixed bag of a game. From game-play videos this game looks so much fun, but in reality, it gets old really quickly and doesn't really offer much variety or challenges.

There is so much to love about the presentation of the game though, the art style of the cut-scenes give me fond memories of Monty Python. However don't expect to make much sense of the story because i don't think even the developers know what's actually going on.

The game-play is simple, you and the AI roll your balls through the course to reach the others castle and try to smash down their gates first. You can both attempt to hinder this by placing defences along the path, but these really don't offer much challenge.

It's not a very long game, There are 15 levels in the main campaign, but it'll only take a couple of hours to smash through them. You can stretch the game out with online & time-trial missions, but I doubt many people will bother to do these.

Although it might not seem it, I did really like Rock of Ages 2, but I just feel it's a bit of a wasted opportunity, there was so much that could be done with this concept.
