On first impressions this game screams of a launch title. Standard graphics with dark basic level designs that are based at night so to hide any draw distances or graphics issues. the story is basic cut & paste with hardly any intro or backstory to explain what's going on. One minute you're playing hide & seek, the next your sporting magical powers and blasting monsters.

The gameplay is surprisingly good, It's a standard twin stick shooter wrapped up in a fantasy setting. You cycle between 4 different spells depending on what colour enemy you're up against. By today's standards this would have got buried beneath the mountains of better games, but for 2002 this is great.

The game has a decent length to it, 11 chapters with reasonable sized maps. My main criticism though is the lack of stuff to do on said maps, you just wander around fighting the same identical monsters over & over again. There aren't any side missions just the main plot, and even that lacks any real depth.

Sadly the game lacks any co-op modes as it works well in these kinds of games, Apparently the 2nd one does, but I haven't tried that yet.
