Buffy the Vampire slayer was one of the first games I played on the XBOX and for a game that was made in 2002, this game holds up pretty well. Games based on TV series are usually rushed & lazy attempts to cash in ona show's popularity at the time, but this one is really good.

The game does a great job of putting you into the Buffy universe with all the familiar locations & characters from the TV series. The voice acting is a bit off and the one liners are cheesy & repetitive, but that just adds to the games charm.

The controls & combat are just as fluid & responsive as they were when I first played this. The combat is your basic button mashing affair, with occasional combos. You just beat them down enough so you can jam a stake or whatever sharp object you have to hand at the time deep into their chest. Call me weird, but there's something strangely satisfying about this.

My biggest gripe would be the length of the game, I feel it goes on a little too long with the later levels being a bit of a slog and the later locations seem a bit out of place.

If you're a fan of the series, then I do urge you to give this a go. There is a sequel also, but I wouldn't bother with that, it's rubbish compared to this.
