Believe it or not, I actually had an a lot of nice things to say about this game, but then I carried on playing it. A lot of those things soon passed and I started to realise how shoddy & lazy this game really is.

Aeon Flux is a game based on a movie based on a cartoon. This pretty much gives you an idea of the mess you're getting yourself into when you start playing it. If you haven't seen either the film or series, then good luck following this train wreck of a plot.

The gameplay is best described as a mix between 'Prince of Persia' (The sands of time trilogy) and 'Metroid'. A standard level consists of POP style platforming with a bit of gunplay and a whole lot of melee combat. There are some nice puzzle sections thrown in at specific points, but they're more skill challenges and come down to luck a lot of the time.

My main issue would have to be the length of the missions. There are 7 chapters in total, but each one feels long & tedious. The level designs are dark & unexciting and do little to engage with the player.

To be honest, I can't really think of much positive stuff to say about Aeon Flux. It's not bad, but It's not good either. It's a standard 3rd person Platformer with little individuality going for it. The lack of consistency with the story makes it a chore to get through, It's patchy & threadbare at times. Unless you're a fan of the series I doubt you'll get anything from this.
